Cobourg 2012 (MultiSport Canada)
The race I've never done but always wanted to:
Pretty athletic kid growing up in Australia. Swimming (ocean and competitive in pool), running, track, tennis, cycling, rowing, surfing, cross-country, skiing, sailing, netball (similar to basketball but with no dribbling) even tried fencing for a while! The main activity that has been part of my life since the day I convinced my Dad to take the training wheels off my 2 wheeler is cycling. I used to ride my bike everywhere as a kid, teenager and into my adult years. Throughout my life, I have always had a bike handy. I love the freedom that cycling brings.
Favourite place to train:
High Park/Humber River/Goodman Trail/YMCA pool
Cycling - long rides north of Toronto
When not training I like to...
Tickle my 4 year old!
What drives me to compete:
I love to challenge myself and see what happens as a result
What motivates me to train:
My daughter, Grace - lead by example
Favourite things to do when not training:
Hang with my partner, Anna, watch movies and work on our house
What I love about triathlon:
I love triathlons because they bring together my 3 favourite physical activities in one combined sport.
Most exhilarating triathlon moment:
Winning my age group at Cobourg
What I'd like to accomplish in triathlon over the next 5 years:
I would like an age-group finish at a half-ironman

People make fun of me because:
I have no fashion sense!
Morning person or night owl?
Night owl, for sure. I hold the record for sleeping the longest in our family, 19 hours!
In a fantasy world, this is what every day of my life would look like:
Live in Muskoka (with no need to work for a living), long rides in picturesque Ontario, long open water swims in the lake and wonderful runs in the sun. When complete for the day, a nice relaxing meal on the deck and an afternoon nap! - did I mention that it would be sunny everyday!
The one food item I could never give up:
Favourite ice cream flavour:
Yentl (what can I say, I love Barbra Streisand!)
Favourite TV show:
What type of music I listen to when training:
Lots of Madonna, Kylie and U2 (hey I'm a kid from the 80's)

Home renovations/carpentry projects
The strangest fact that nobody would ever guess about me is:
There are situations when I can be shy...
