Nickname(s) and the story behind it: ‘Bee’ – my chemistry teacher in High School called me by my 1st initial but people thought he really meant ‘a bee’. Other one is Miss B’ A friend from islands calls me that all the time at work and it caught on.

Goals for 2016: beat 6 hrs at Barrelman
Personal highlights from the past few years: On vacatioin Hawaii in 2013, seeing the Ironman athletes training for the upcoming Championships. Such amazing talent…..Also ran a short route along Alii Drive.
Favourite piece of gear: Has to be my lap counter. I lose track in the pool all the time.
The one piece of gear I don’t have that I really want is : Power meter
Favourite “healthy” food: roasted pumpkin seed and any kind of green salad
Favourite “unhealthy” food: chocolate of course.
To reward myself after a race I like to: eat a giant juicy burger, the kind that runs down my arms and lots of fries
My race day routine breakfast……coffee…panic a bit….get there super early (sorry hubby) and watch people.
Guilty pleasures: sitting on the couch with a bag of chips or chocolate
I started doing triathlons/duathlons/running because… started running to get in shape for the Police application. Passed all the tests, I didn’t get past the final interview however, I found out I loved running and after doing a marathon I needed the next challenge. I am not a fast runner but I am a fast swimmer so it seemed right to try tri’s.
Favourite race: Barrelman
The race I’ve never done but always wanted to: Muskoka 70.3 then any full Ironman
Athletic background: competitive swimmer as a kid, showed horses for a few years as well.
Favourite place to train: my small town near Lake Simcoe.
Favourite workout: Um really???? People think I’m nuts anyway so hill training.
When not training I like to… spend time with my Hubby and my horses, all at the same time. Vacation in any hot spot and swim in the ocean….so long as it’s 30 degree outside otherwise no ocean for me. Too cold!
What drives me to compete: Not sure….I need a goal and I love accomplishing any challenge.
What motivates me to train?: That green box in training peaks. I hate seeing red.
Favourite things to do when not training: ride my horses
What I love about triathlon/duathlon/running?: Not many people can say they do it and those who do are so awesome. Everyone is so helpful and supportive no matter how fast or slow we are.
Most exhilarating triathlon moment: High fiving my hubby on the second loop of the run at Barrelman and of course crossing that finish line at Barrelman 2015 under 6 hrs 30 mins.
What I’d like to accomplish in triathlon over the next 5 years: Full Ironman.
Person I look up to and admire the most in the sport is: Anyone who has the guts to do this.
Countries I’ve visited: 3
Languages I speak: 1 and half……can understand and read French not so good speaking it.
This weekend I’m going to… do as usual, run, ride and visit the animals. Oh and indulge in chips and chocolate
The story behind my favourite scar: Got hit with a shovel as a kid right under my nose and I got to go to the hospital in a police car because we were in the middle of a giant snow storm…so cool.
When I was a kid I wanted to grow up to be: A vet

In a fantasy world, this is what every day of my life would look like: sleep in. run, bike or swim, go see my horses, watch girly movies, eat chocolate.
