Hi Karen! Great swimming with you and thanks again for joining us. Here’s your original, unedited swim video. I’ll post the swim video analysis on this same page when it’s done.
Still to come
The first thing that I noticed is that currently your kick is larger than it needs to be. I want you to try and decrease the size of your kick. You should try and maintain a kick that is about the size of a shoebox, with small bubbles on the surface. Once you can get that, work on making it consistent throughout your stroke (maintaining the small kick when you breath). The second thing I want you to work on is entering your hands farther from your head (later). Water has more resistance than air and right now you are not capitalizing on that principle. Lastly, I want you to try and pull your hands straight through the stroke. Right now they pull to the outside and then sweep across your body at the end in an S pattern. Pulling straight through will provide or hand/arm with a more advantageous angle and improve the efficiency of your pull.
