Goals for 2014:
Would like to try Kingston Sprint Triathlon along with several other events. Ride for Heart, Sporting Life 10K etc.
Favourite piece of gear:
Love my Garmin 910XT
The one piece of gear I don’t have that I really want is:
My own swimming pool……
Favourite “healthy” food:
Favourite “unhealthy” food:
Potato Chips… There, I said it.
To reward myself after a race I like to:
Eat, and watch a movie
My race day routine:
Up early, small amount to eat if any, hydrate and listen to Led Zeppelin.
My mother’s pastries
I started doing triathlons/duathlons/running because…
I wanted to see just what I was capable of achieving in various events and then somehow caught the TRI bug.
2013 Try Tri – placed 3rd in my age group!
Favourite place to train:
Living downtown Toronto I use the Don Valley and Martin Goodman trails for running and cycling. Open water swim training at Cherry Beach is great in the summer but use the new Regent Park Aquatic centre for lane swims through the winter months.
Difficult to choose but I really enjoy a solitary run on the trail alone.
When not training I like to…
Catch up on my loaded PVR and cook.
Favourite things to do when not training:
Love to travel. Go to movies. F1 Grand Prix; I’m a huge F1 race fan.
Most exhilarating triathlon moment:
When I learned I could actually do this sport and cross the finish line.
What I’d like to accomplish in triathlon over the next 5 years:
My goal is to train to eventually complete in an Olympic distance triathlon.
Person I look up to and admire the most in the sport is:
Anyone who attempts to compete in multisport.
Countries I’ve visited:
USA, Cuba, Dominican Republic, South Africa, and heading to Spain, Italy and Greece in the spring! Taking my kicks of course.
My favourite one-liner:
“You’re NEVER too old to TRI!”
Morning person or night owl?:
Both. See my problem?
The one food item I could never give up:
Favourite TV show:
I’m bit of a news junky(CNN, CBC, etc). But was a big “Breaking Bad” fan.
What type of music I listen to when training:
Classic Queen, Maroon 5, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Kanye West. I switch it up often depending on my mood.
Other hobbies and interests:
Love to cook and bake and kick some butt on the golf course.
